The Vietnamese Cuisine Restaurant in Kihei, which was shutdown last Tuesday due to food safety violations including a cockroach infestation, has reopened after passing a Health Department inspection Thursday.
The Health Department removed its red placard and returned the restaurant in Azeka Place to green status after pest control treatment by Eco Lab.
“All critical violations have been corrected,” the Health Department inspection report said.
A follow-up inspection will be done Thursday.
Wen Liu of Vietnamese Cuisine apologized Monday to her customers for the violations. She noted that the restaurant had been closed for the last several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic and emergency orders.
“We were going through the personnel shortcuts and changes during the whole time,” she said. “Due to our negligence and failure to discover and deal with things in time, we faced a bigger problem.
“After two-time rigid inspections, we were allowed to reopen.”
“Please accept our sincere apology. And we are here to assure that we will do our best to maintain a good and clean environment to better serve our customers,” Liu said.
